It’s been a while, but these ‘thoughts’ posts are some of my favorites. I’m headed to San Francisco this week for the final fitting of my bespoke jacket with Tailor’s Keep. Then I will be in Ohio during my favorite time of the year.

I. Japanese Convenience Wear

If Wallgreens had a clothing line, you wouldn’t give it a passing glance, but when Family Mart makes clothes, it’s something to pay attention to. If you are wondering why, it’s because the Japanese place a greater emphasis on classic design and quality when it comes to apparel. When I visited the Family Mart at the T Site in Daikanyama, I noticed they had a relatively large collection of Convenience Wear (good name!) clothing (seen in the photo above), and I ended up buying two pieces out of curiosity. I always loved that convenience stores sold crisp white dress shirts for the salaryman whose night went too far. Now they are selling complete collections of basic clothing, and it’s not bad!
