I’m not really the person who wants to get every possible thing out of a trip. I generally expect to come back to a place so don’t stress about doing everything. My preference would almost always be to float around with no plans rather than try to schedule everything to the minute. Typically I try my best to avoid overthinking things — I’d much rather operate on a wing and a prayer. I have realized however that there are certain instances were I’ve developed hardened strategies for seemingly mundane things. I want to share some of the standout practices I use for travel, dad life, building a wardrobe etc., but today I want to talk specifically about how I pack for a work trip.
Before we get into it all, some notes. First there’s no wrong or right way to do this. Also, this may be simple but I think the big take away should be that having a strategy on the front-end will end up making your life much easier over time. The objective here is simple: be efficient and look your best. My goal in life is to find the perfect balance between being strategic and also just floating through life with an empty Google calendar.
