Speaking of madras, I wanted to share some photos from our little get together in NYC. Together with friends Matt Hranek and Prasan Shah of the The Original Madras Trading Co., we gathered in our favorite madras at the wonderful Indian restaurant The Drunken Munkey on the Upper East Side. The evening was made even more enjoyable with the help of Dewar’s who was on hand to mix Highballs and offer some delicious whisky which we all enjoyed. Everything was documented beautifully by certified friend of ACL Spencer Wells.
The idea for the cocktail party was to start the tradition of an annual gathering of madras in the city — inspired loosely by seersucker day. The evening was a reminder for me of just how great a city summer cocktail party can be. Like our trip to Atlanta earlier in the year, it was great to see old friends and new ones. Sometimes all you need is an easy theme, a solid cocktail and good people to have some fun. Should we have a fall tweed NYC reader gathering? I’m game if you are.
Last note on the ACL madras shirts. We opened a pre-order for anyone who might have wanted to order a shirt but missed the initial stock. We are going to run this until 8/19 and then will make the shirts as fast as we can. If you are interested in grabbing something, please do so before this closes. There was an amazing response for which I am extremely grateful. I’ve been wearing the shirts and love them. Hope you all agree. Thanks for all of your support! -MW
Subhead of the year
So did I miss the window to order a madras shirt? Were these only preorders?
