Some would say I can develop an inordinate attachment to retail stores. Cuff’s in Chagrin Falls, Ohio is in this zone. Ghiaia in San Marino is too. Harrison Limited in Mountain Brook, Alabama is another target for my affection. Add Campbell’s of Beauly to this list. It’s the one-of-a-kind super special family shop of my dreams.

In the current globalized-consumer-hellscape it’s increasingly hard to find anything unique, which makes Campbell’s that much more important. Being an independent company elevates things further. French luxury conglomerates are great, but we are all good on the duty free experience. Obviously heritage is an important element when considering these things. Check another box for Campbell’s. Craft and quality are crucial, because we want things that will last —we are buying for value after all. Finally and perhaps most crucially, I love specialization. As a country outfitter and tailor of estate tweed, Campbell’s of Beauty manages to excel in everything we care about. It’s truly something special and I feel confident in saying that it is easily one of the best shops in the world.
