Unpublished Travel: Don Julio in Buenos Aires

Thanks to some serious Coggins connections, we had a prime table at the Michelin-starred Parilla Don Julio when we visited Buenos Aires in January. Don Julio is the embodiment of Argentinian food and one of the truly great dining experiences you can find anywhere. It’s not easy to get a reservation, and when you arrive, many people are waiting outside (with drinks from the restaurant) for a potential free table. It’s quite a scene.

Once inside, you can’t help but stop and look at the massive Argentinian grill right in front of the space. If ever there was a place where steak is held on a pedestal, this is it. If I didn’t love Bisteca Florentina so much, I would say this is my all-time favorite place to eat red meat. It’s certainly the best all-around steakhouse experience I have ever had. Don Julio is a must-visit if you can while visiting BA. It’s the stuff Argentinian dreams are made of.
