Still don't really know what to do with Outerknown. Plenty of things that I really like about what they are doing, yet a good deal that still remains to be seen. I've found you really have to dig deep to get an understanding of what they are trying to do as a brand (i.e. interviews like this). Certainly more substance than typically seen in the traditional surf wear brand model that relies way more on marketing and hype.

Good interview. Liked the ambition here to be 100% “circular” by 2030.

Great interview. Only regret is that it wasn't recorded a la Drexler(ICON), Welch et al. My lady has pretty much lived in Outerknown jumpsuit(s) for most of the year. Thanks John!

Great interview. I’ve been a buyer of their blanket shirts for a while. Very vibey but also very good quality and warmth. I frequently give these as presents and feel like they’ll age nicely in the way a good Oxford shirt softens with multiple washes or selvedge jeans wear uniquely. Sustainable isn’t quick as John points out - it’s also not ‘cheap’ at least at time of sale. But - given the amount of joy it’ll give you and the patina over time - worth it.

Reading the following from John, “And just generally spending more time with my family in close quarters without work travel is something I’m really cherishing. Might never happen again.” That’s been my mentality over the past few months. I miss getting on a plane and heading to a different place, and exploring; but this time around my kids (9 and 11), won’t ever happen again. I have plenty of years for all that other stuff. Just grateful that I have a career I love and can work from home, when many others in this country are struggling.

As John said, glad to have A Continuous Lean back!

Interesting goals and perspective, started my morning with thoughts of sustainability but it was the circle of reuse that really focused my attention.
