Great report.

Much credit should go to Dan Jago and his team for doing a great job keeping Purdey on track.

Purdy gained a chunk of market share in the top end classic field gear space after Holland & Holland’s years in the wilderness during the Tennant-Guinness Collection days and after the product gap created when H&H sold to Beretta.

Nobody else is close in regard to consistency.

That travel field bar is cool. I have been looking at "campaign" furniture on various vintage sites and this reminds me of that style. Handsome piece.

One of the cultural differences between the U.S. and U.K. (or maybe all of the U.S. and Western Europe) I find most interesting are the cultural associations around hunting. If you grew up hunting in Britain, you're instantly marked as posh, whereas in the U.S. people think of The Deer Hunter (and nowadays, MAGA).

This certainly explains the existence of a Purdey, a Beauly, etc, but I'm always curious if there's any comparable "heritage" hunting brand in the U.S. You'd think it has to exist, but may be just totally off the radar of a non-hunter.
